Day 21 – Wed 21st Sept – I slightly overdid it at football last night so was a bit sore walking round for most of the day. I was mainly in the study and discovered I wasn’t as far ahead as I hoped in prep for Isaiah 30. I’d done an outline and sketched the sermon but the bulk of the work still needs to be done. I was slow in preparing which is disappointing. Other than that it was a pretty uneventful day. House-group met at ours and before we start studying 1 Peter we thought we’d have a welcome kebab to the new year. We tried German Donner Kebab in West Ealing on Oli Mallett’s recommendation. They serve gentrified kebabs, wrapped in foil encased in a posh cardboard box. I was disappointed, there was a pristine blandness to the donner. It felt a little bit like when Classical Orchestras play Stone Roses, it just wasn’t meant to be that way. We spent some time praying for Sandra who heads off to uni on Sunday. Then the fun really began with the house alarm going off intermittently through the night – we don’t pay for it so ADT won’t fix it, hopefully an electrician from the church will come and cut some wires today.
