Day 182 – Fri 3 Mar – I didn’t sleep particularly well so I was grateful that we didn’t have a Church Planting Committee meeting and Synod didn’t begin until 10.30. Leo had asked the OM band to lead the singing so it felt like we’d been transported to a Christian Union meeting with Hillsong, Getty and the like. The song leader was very enthusiastic it wasn’t my cup of tea.
My good friend Jose Sagovia from Madrid gave an excellent address on the Reformation in Europe during the morning and then in the afternoon we had our business meeting. We were only just quorate and one of the problems we’re facing is how Synod can function in a meaningful way. It was good that there were a number of Korean brothers from the UK and one minister had come all the way from Seoul to be with us. How we move forward on the quorate issue I’m not sure. We did however make a positive move on church relations which I think will be significant in the future.
During the evening lots of us went out for a meal to an Italian and then David Gibson and I were back to the hotel to chew the fat.
