Day 301 – Sat 1 July – I did some more painting, watched the Lions with the kinds which was magnificent before getting the train at 11. I had 3 hours on the train with a couple of stops before getting into Abergavenny at 2.30. I find the train the most conducive place for reading and working. You can get more done in 2 hours on the train than anywhere else. My friend James Sercombe the minister in Crickhowell picked me up and I spoke at their 41st anniversary service that afternoon. There wasn’t a great crowd but it was lovely to meet Tristan Hallam who’s recently moved to Tredegar. I preached on Matthew 28 on the Resurrection changes everything.
James’ wife Martha was away with their daughter so James got Jonathan Thomas over from Abergavenny and we had curry. It was terrific fun and great to catch up.
